Mysa HQ is on a mission to make smarter, more sustainable energy management accessible to every multi-site business, not just the ones with massive capital budgets and requiring a PhD in building controls. Our platform combines commercial-grade smart thermostats, wireless sensors for C02, Water Leak Detection, Fridge and Freezer Temps, Open and Closed Door, Occupancy etc., and a centralized cloud dashboard to help teams across retail chains, restaurants, pharmacies, and service businesses take control of their HVAC, remotely, efficiently, and without the complexity of traditional building automation systems.

With customers like AT&T Authorized Retail (2,000+ locations, saving $250K/month in energy costs), Mysa HQ is scaling fast across North America. We're looking for a driven Business Development Manager to help us grow our pipeline and bring more multi-site operators into the fold.

The Opportunity

This is a Business to Business Commercial Sales role with real career trajectory. You'll be hunting net-new business across target verticals including box retail, QSR, pharmacy, healthcare, and service chains. Because our industry thrives on authentic, high-impact relationships, you are someone who loves being where the action is. You’ll embrace extensive travel as a key asset to your success, recognizing that the best deals are sealed with a handshake and face-to-face collaboration. 

Back at the home base, you’ll work hand-in-hand with our marketing, solutions, and customer success teams to move deals through our full sales cycle: Lead → Discovery → Value Prop → Pilot → Closed. You will be a key contributor to Mysa HQ's Business to Business growth story, and you'll have the tools, team, and support to do it right.

What You'll Be Doing

Pipeline & Prospecting

  1. Own outbound prospecting into target accounts across multi-site facility managers, Sustainability Directors, VP Operations, and C-suite stakeholders at regional and national chains across Canada and the United States.
  2. Embrace the "Road Warrior" Advantage: You love being in the field and recognize that our best insights come from being on-site. You’re the type of person who naturally "talks shop" the moment you walk into a location, noticing a legacy thermostat on a wall or a fridge that feels a few degrees too warm and you use those real-world observations to build a winning case for the decision-maker.Expected travel is 1–2 times per month.
  3. Qualify inbound leads and develop relationships from first touch through to pilot sign-off.
  4. Build and maintain a healthy, well-documented pipeline in our company CRM, ensuring accurate stage progression and forecasting is completed.

Solution Selling

  1. Run structured discovery calls to uncover the operational, financial, and sustainability pain points driving the need for HVAC control and energy management across multiple mission critical devices within the location(s)
  2. Deliver compelling, customized value prop presentations and ROI analyses tailored to each prospect's portfolio size, energy spend, and operational complexity
  3. Position Mysa HQ's hardware + SaaS model against competitors (Gridpoint, Honeywell, Ecobee for Business, Sinopé, Monaire) and traditional BMS/EMS providers

Pilot Management & Close

  1. Guide prospects through the pilot process, coordinating with our Solutions and Support teams to ensure a smooth, fast, and ROI-demonstrable deployment
  2. Lead commercial negotiations and work toward close, managing stakeholder relationships throughout the process
  3. Support the handoff to Customer Success post-close, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience

Market Intelligence

  1. Feed back competitive insights, objection patterns, and vertical-specific trends to the sales and product teams
  2. Represent Mysa HQ at industry conferences and trade events (ConnexFM, RFMA, BOMA, IFMA, etc.)


What We're Looking For

Experience

  1. 3+ years of B2B sales experience — ideally in a mix of hardware, SaaS, and solution-selling environments
  2. Experience selling into facilities management, sustainability, commercial real estate, retail operations, or HVAC/building controls is strongly preferred
  3. Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a full-cycle sales role
  4. Familiarity with HVAC systems — RTUs, heat pumps, PTACs, fan coils, or HVACR — is a significant asset (you don't need to be a technician, but you need to be able to speak the language)
  5. Experience navigating multi-stakeholder enterprise deals with long sales cycles

Skills & Traits

  1. A natural hunter mentality you're energized by prospecting, not just account management. You understand that in-person meetings within B2B selling is important and necessary and that picking up the phone and not hiding behind email to prospect is a key to your success
  2. Strong consultative selling skills you listen first, then prescribe, then drive to close
  3. Clear, confident communicator both verbal and written, with the ability to tailor your message to a VP Ops vs. a Facilities Manager
  4. Comfortable using CRM (Attio, ZoomInfo, HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent) for pipeline management and reporting
  5. Highly organized and self-directed, you thrive in a fast-moving, lean team environment
  6. Genuine interest in sustainability, energy efficiency, and the decarbonization of commercial buildings

Education

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
